ABOUT THE ROLE
The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the Day Camp program. The incumbent oversees the development of quality recreational programs in all aspects of camp operations. The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for supervising and directing the work of the Day Camp Leaders. The incumbent is also responsible for various administrative tasks, which may include coordinating schedules, and completing all necessary reports. Learn more about the role here.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High energy, self-initiator
- Experience teaching or working with children in a recreational programming or school setting would be considered an asset
- Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Qualifications (to be maintained as a condition of employment)
- Candidates must be currently certified in First Aid/Level C CPR Certifications
- WHMIS certification
- Must provide a satisfactory Police Criminal Records Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
Desirable Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with children ages 7 to 18 in recreation programming or educational setting
- Experience supervising staff in a camp environment or related discipline preferred
- Candidates with an educational background i.e. Working towards B.Ed will be given preference
- Candidates must be currently certified in First Aid/Level C CPR Certifications
- Valid driver’s license an asset
- Ability to swim and skate
- Ability to speak French
Working Conditions
- Exposure to a loud, and busy environment.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - While performing the functions of this job some tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort including some combinations of standing, standing at a height, sitting, sitting at a height, crouching, walking, climbing, swimming, performing work while wet and /or performing work while wet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods, as most programming takes place outside in varying weather conditions.
- Term position - 12 weeks starting June 8, 2026
- 35 hours per week
- $18.64/ hour
