About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Communications & Engagement Coordinator supports the organization’s communications, engagement, and promotional activities. The position develops and delivers content across a variety of communication channels, supports sponsorship, advertising and partnership opportunities, and assists with initiatives that promote the organization’s programs, services, facilities, and events. Working collaboratively with staff and external stakeholders, the Coordinator fosters meaningful community engagement, encourages participation, and supports organizational priorities and objectives.
About You
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver organizational communications across a variety of digital and print channels.
- Create written and visual content for newsletters, promotional campaigns, brochures, flyers, website and other communication materials.
- Collaborate with staff, facility user groups, community partners and other stakeholders to support communication and engagement initiatives.
- Maintain the organization’s website and digital communication platforms by ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.
- Support initiatives that increase community participation and engagement with the organization’s facilities, programs, services, and events.
- Identify, promote, and support sponsorship, advertising, and partnership opportunities that align with organizational goals.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective event organizers, sponsors, advertisers, and community partners, coordinating information and follow-up with internal departments as required.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, promotional activities, and stakeholder engagements as required.
- Maintain communication schedules, content calendars, sponsorship and advertising inventories, contact databases, and related records.
- Work collaboratively with the General Manager and department managers to support organizational initiatives and priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, community engagement, sponsorship, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering content across digital, print, website, email, and social media channels.
- Experience supporting sponsorship, advertising, partnership, and community engagement initiatives.
- Proficiency with website content management, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Permanent, Full time
- Annual Salary - $58,000 to $69,600
- Primarily office-based work within a recreation and aquatic facility environment.
- Exposure to humid pool environment, pool chemicals, noise, and varying indoor temperatures.
- Occasional evening, weekend and holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
- Work outside of regular office hours is required to meet operational demands.
